Are you going to Travel: Let’s Enjoy Top 5 Must Visited Beijing Attractions?

Beijing is often the starting point for discovering China. Capital of the country, it has a rich cultural heritage to discover. This city is tentacular, the surface of the municipality of Pekin corresponds approximately to that of Belgium. Getting around in Beijing is sometimes difficult, often nightmarish. The pollution of Beijing is now as famous as the Forbidden City and is rightly so. However, Beijing is a fantastic city that deserves to take the time to visit in depth to get the first impression which is much more than Great Wall tour in Beijing.

Tian an Men Square

Tianan Men Square is the third largest place in the world, even if you do not feel this impression, perhaps because of the Mao Mausoleum which was installed in the centre. In Tianan Men Square, one is at the heart of political imperial and contemporary China. We walk in ancient and modern history. It is one of the most famous views of China, the door of heavenly peace (Tianan Men) with the effigy of the great helmsman founding of the People's Republic.

The Forbidden City

The Forbidden City is the former palace of the Emperor of China. This palace is in fact a small town that was banned from the common people, hence its name, thus respecting the philosophy of clear separation between the Emperor and his people.

Forbidden City

Access to the Forbidden City is through Tianan Men Gate or the North. Most of the people find the first buildings in the South much more interesting than those in the North, which are somewhat symmetrical to one another without the grandeur of the former.

Jingshan Park

Jingshan Park is a lung of greenery in the heart of Beijing. It is from this park to the North of the Forbidden City that one has the best view on the palace. The view is splendid on the orange roofs and then on the south of Beijing.

Summer Palace

Located in the North West of the city, the Summer Palace is a great exciting park that deserves at least a half day sightseeing. As the name suggests, the Summer Palace served as a retreat for the Emperor during the great heat of the Chinese summer. You can discover magnificent buildings inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

The Great Wall of China

The Wall of China extends from the North Korean border to the border of Gansu in Jiayuguan over 3500km. It is possible to visit it in many places, and as it crosses the municipality of Beijing to the north, it is impossible to visit Beijing without spending a day climbing the Great Wall tour in Beijing. There are many stretches for the public and others closed but still visiting.

You have to be careful because the Great Wall was built on the ridges of the mountains and some passages are very dangerous. We recommend the stretches of Simatai, for those who have the time and sportsmanship make the day trip between Simatai and Jinshanling which is beautiful.
